Last Updated: January 2026

General Terms and Definitions

“Runner Beans Running Club” or “RBC” refers to the informal social running community organised by Runner Beans.

An “RBC Organiser” refers to any volunteer involved in planning, coordinating, or leading RBC runs or related activities.

A “Participant” refers to any individual who attends, takes part in, or remains present at an RBC social run or event.

Age Limit

Participation in RBC events is strictly limited to individuals aged 18 years or over.

Agreement to these Terms

By attending, participating in, or remaining present at any RBC event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

Participation constitutes acceptance of these Terms — no written signature or formal registration is required.

Failure to comply with these Terms may result in removal from an event or exclusion from the RBC community.

Health, Fitness and Medical Responsibility

All Participants take part in RBC activities entirely at their own risk and are solely responsible for their own health, fitness, and wellbeing.

Running and physical activity carry inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, illness, accidents, or the aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions. By participating, you confirm that you are in good health, medically fit, and physically capable of taking part in the activity.

RBC Organisers are not medically trained and do not assess or monitor participant fitness, ability, or medical conditions. RBC cannot and does not provide medical advice or determine whether participation is appropriate for any individual.

Participants should not take part if they feel unwell, injured, or otherwise unsafe to do so.

Assumption of Risk and Liability

RBC accepts no responsibility for injuries, health issues, losses, or damages sustained during or as a result of participation in RBC activities.

Participants acknowledge that RBC events are informal, social runs and that risks may arise from, but are not limited to:

  • Physical exertion

  • Road traffic, cyclists, pedestrians, or other third parties

  • Uneven terrain, weather conditions, or environmental hazards

  • The actions or omissions of other participants

All participation is undertaken voluntarily and at the Participant’s own risk.

RBC does not provide personal accident, medical, or injury insurance for Participants.

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes RBC’s liability for:

  1. Death or personal injury caused by negligence where liability cannot legally be excluded

  2. Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  3. Any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law

Subject to the above, RBC, its organisers, volunteers, affiliates, sponsors, and third-party partners shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage, or claim, whether in contract, negligence, breach of statutory duty, or otherwise.

Any liability that cannot be excluded shall be limited to £25 per Participant per event, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Behaviour, Conduct and Inclusivity

RBC is an inclusive, friendly, and welcoming community. Participants are expected to behave respectfully and considerately toward others at all times.

RBC operates a strict zero-tolerance policy toward offensive, inappropriate, or unsafe behaviour, including but not limited to intimidation, verbal abuse, physical violence, harassment (sexual, physical, or verbal), discriminatory conduct, or reckless behaviour.

RBC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to impose penalties for breaches of conduct, including temporary suspension, permanent exclusion from events, or removal from the community.

Any concerns or reports of unacceptable behaviour should be raised via direct message to @runnerbeansclub.

Safety and Courtesy

Participants are responsible for running safely and courteously, remaining aware of their surroundings, and alerting others to potential hazards such as vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, children, obstacles, or changes in terrain.

RBC runs are not marshalled races and do not involve road closures or formal supervision.

Photography and Media

Photographs and videos may be taken during RBC events for promotional and community purposes.

By attending an RBC event, Participants consent to the use of such images and footage by RBC, its affiliates, sponsors, and third-party partners across marketing, social media, and promotional channels.

Participants who do not wish to appear in media content should notify an organiser on the day.

Bag Drop and Personal Belongings

Any bag drop or storage facilities provided are offered for convenience only.

RBC and any venues hosting events (including cafés or other premises) accept no responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings. All items are left entirely at the Participant’s own risk, and valuables should not be left unattended.

Personal Information

RBC may collect limited personal information, such as a telephone number, solely for the purposes of communication and event coordination, with the consent of the Participant.

Participants may withdraw consent and request removal of their personal information at any time by messaging @runnerbeansclub on Instagram, including removal from any WhatsApp groups.

Changes to These Terms

RBC reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon publication or notification.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions, and any disputes or claims arising from them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
